Who We Are And What We Do
What is a church?
A church is a group of Christians who are committed to meeting together regularly
to encourage one another to worship and serve God, to follow Jesus Christ and to share the good news about Jesus with non-Christians.
What is an Evangelical?
An Evangelical Christian believes that
the Bible is God's words to mankind and that it is the final authority for belief and behaviour. At the heart of the message
of the Bible is the good news (the "evangel" or "gospel") that God has appointed Jesus to be the "Christ"
(the king of the world) and that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and after three days rose again. God freely accepts and
forgives everyone who sincerely acknowledges Jesus to be their King and relies on him as their Saviour.
What Do We Do?
There is a strong
emphasis in our services on teaching the Bible. The preaching is always Bible-based. We believe that when God's word is
explained the voice of God is heard.
We
meet twice-monthly to share together in the Lord's Supper (the communion or breaking of bread).
We baptise people by immersion on their profession
of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We
sing the praises of God by using a variety of hymns both old and new.
We Cater for all ages (Creche, Sunday School, Youth Work etc).
We provide regular "Christianity Explored"
courses for anyone who wants to look into the Christian faith.
